`How to protect your home from crime 

1. Secure your house; lock your doors, windows, and -- if you have one -- your garage. This will prevent thieves from coming into your home and stealing your belongings.
2. Disable places where thieves could hide in front of your door or other ways that the thieves could get into your house (example a bush in front of your house or a tree that a robber could climb up to get into an open window.)
3. Set up alarm systems or security cameras to watch your home if you are out. If the alarm activates, get help immediately. There are many different alarm systems.
